Feeling Fall Vibes

Now that I am out of school, I can enjoy the month of October more fully now! I love it when it starts to get cooler. you switch out your summer clothes for your fall closet. I’m honestly running out of summer outfits!

Gotta love those bulky, comfy sweaters, leggings, scarfs, flannels, beanies, and boots! Love it all!

I got my comfy sweater and scarf!

The last two Octobers I remember were stressful. Though I was lucky enough to be able to go home for fall break and bring good friends home with me. But fall breaks always feel too short going right back to school work once back to school. I felt as if I couldn’t fully celebrate the beautiful time of fall because of the worry of school. I did also have some personal struggles going on so, it wasn’t all smiles either. The hurry of classes, staying on task for projects, the buzz of what’s happening on campus, and letting time fly by without taking it all in slowly. I mean in college it’s always on the go, don’t be late for this, turn it in right at 11:59 pm. Where’s the “turn it in right before it’s due squad”!??? (Cough cough) Sorry professors…

Anyways, I’ve had a lot of fun in the sun! I mean it’s Texas! I made sure to make use of my swimsuit plenty. Though, I didn’t get to do as much sand volleyball as I would have liked. But the fun can be moved indoors! Plus, I feel like I’ve gotten enough sun for the season. ๐Ÿ™‚

I definitely am thankful for the season I am in now. Therefore, I’m soaking up the heat to save it for hibernation (ya’ll be like, I don’t think it works like that). I remember times at school where I’d look out my dorm room window and admire the blue sky and the shining sun, but looks can be deceiving. When I’d step outside my skin would feel betrayed because of the chilly weather. Then I’d be wishing for true warmth once again.

So, I’m giving the fall lovers the downlow for the need to know for all things October!

First, to get more excited I’ve made my fall weather bucket list. These are just things I want to do. What’s on your list?

I have more on my paper list, but these are some main ones!

Often times the next season can come before we know and we can get stuck in our routines, whether that’s trying to not drown from all your classes and trying to have a social life or working full-time or whatever that looks like after college for you. We can get stuck in the cycle of getting by. So, especially for myself, I want to get out of that mold of repetitiveness! I can start with a bucket list, but I won’t let it end with one list. If you can’t tell I’m a list person…

This next part will sound like my monthly suggestions posts, but this is special. You can add whatever suggestions to your list of fall weather to-do’s or maybe it will give you some inspiration of how to make this next season more lively.

Movies/tv-shows to watch:

Over the Garden Wall

This trailer does reveal the main plot, but there’s so much more to it than the trailer!

This series is one of my favorite shows to watch in the fall season. In fact, it’s become a tradition for me to watch it with a group of friends, I may not be able to watch it with the friends that introduced it to me, but I hope to have a watching party with the friends I have here at home, so they will know the awesomeness of “potatoes and molasses!” Some people like to quote SpongeBob, others the Office, for me, it’s Over the Garden Wall and “that’s a rock fact!”

If you haven’t seen the 3rd season of Stranger Things, October would be the time to jump on the bandwagon. I think without me noticing that’s what I’ve been waiting for because I’ve only seen the 1st episode of season 3. I don’t know too much about this season because I don’t want to ruin it for me. I’m one of those people that would rather know next to nothing going into a new show. But I do know that the characters can be hilarious like in this scene. You’ll get the spooky, mystery, humor and maybe a side of romance?

Gotta love Steve and his kids ๐Ÿ™‚

A classic movie for me to watch would be Sixth Sense. It certainly takes me back! It definitely is one I can watch again, that is after it’s been a while. If you are jumpy like me when it comes to ghosts popping up and looking gory, maybe watch some intense scenes through the cracks of your fingers. Honestly, it’s not really scary, but it’s got some twists and turns and if you haven’t seen it, you gotta, you may be surprised by the turn of events at the end.

What a line! I’m sure you’ve heard of it from your jokester friends.

Now, I’m just going to list the rest of them. They are not in a particular order here on.

  1. Edward Scissorhands
  2. Harry Potter series
  3. E.T.
  4. The Corpse Bride
  5. The Addam’s Family
  6. Gremlins
  7. Sleepy Hollow (weirdly one of my favs)
  8. Zodiac
  9. Black Swan
  10. A Quiet Place
  11. I am Legend
  12. Veronica
  13. American Psycho
  14. The Mist
  15. Shutter Island
  16. Hush
  17. The Conjuring
  18. The Visit

As adults, it may not be socially acceptable to go trick or treating with the kids on the street. But we still got the Halloween parties and I think some of you would agree with me that those can be more fun when older! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have some costumes from 2015 (2 different ones) and then 2016 to 2018 of when I went to school at jbu, here were the different costumes I came up with.

2018 Old comic book character

2017 Minnie Mouse

2016 Arwen -LOTR

2015 Mrs. Addam’s/Creepy skeleton

I had always wanted to try to do a costume where I’d try out face paint. Well, I definitely got the creepy part down!

I’ve been reminiscing with a friend about this childhood show we both used to watch called The Big Comfy Couch. She thinks I should be Molly. I loved how the character would sit on this HUGE couch and would find all sorts of things in between the cushions. I’m pretty sure I tried to do that same thing when I was little… Sorry, mom!

Please feel free to write a comment! What should I be for Halloween? What’s a must on your fall bucket list? Or favorite scary movie!

Love, peace, and blessings!
